SUMMARY:2024 CCA Retreat & Educational Symposium
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that FFC will again sponsor families to attend CCA’s Annual Family Retreat & Educational Symposium.  \nCCA’s Annual Family Retreat & Educational Symposium is held each June to provide individuals affected by a facial difference\, their siblings and parents an opportunity to interact with others who have endured similar experiences. The unique format of the Retreat allows families to share ideas\, problems and solutions and make life-long friendships. The weekend kicks off on Thursday with an Educational Symposium and the rest of the weekend allows time and activities to build new relationships and bonds of understanding and caring\, which will lend support through both difficult and good times in the future. \nWhen:  June 27 to June 30\, 2024.  Please note that the educational symposium starts on the morning of June 27. \nWhere:  Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore\, MD. Please note all families will be staying here. \nHow to Register: Registration will close March 15\, 2024 or when all spots have been filled. CCA will open a waitlist when spots are filled. SUMMARY:High School Teen Meet-Up for Manicures
DESCRIPTION:ATTN HIGH SCHOOLERS:  Do you want to meet other Teens with a craniofacial condition? \nJoin us for this meet-up!  Participants will meet at Coco Nails Spa at the CambridgeSide Gallery where they will get manicures together to break the ice.  Afterwards\, they are free to hang out at the mall\, walk around or grab a drink to chat and get to know each other better. \nLimited to 5 participants so please register early! \n[maxbutton id=”3″ url=”https://forms.gle/MUpPNp3W8TxA68xj6″ ] \n  \nParents:  This is a drop off event.  FFC will not be supervising the kids for the duration of the event.  FFC will be at the Coco Nails Spa to check participants in\, get everyone settled\, and take care of the fee for the manicures.  We will check back in at the end to make sure everything went well.  After the manicures are done\, the participants will be on their own. \nBack story:  This event came about because we received multiple emails expressing teens want to meet other craniofacial teens in high school.  We hope that this event could help start some life long friendships. \nIf you have suggestions for a new program we should consider\, please email them to programs@facesofchildren.org.

DESCRIPTION:The Foundation for Faces of Children has invited Michael Williams-Stark of “Making Faces” to return for another FREE one-day workshop for FFC families on Saturday\, November 2nd. This program will be held at the Embassy Suites in Waltham\, MA from 10am – 3pm and lunch will be served. \n[maxbutton id=”3″ url=”https://forms.gle/R4QtBvYnBs8P4CpXA” ] \n  \n“Making Faces” is designed\, constructed and provided by Michael Williams-Stark who is a Canadian actor\, improv comedian\, musician and public speaker.  Michael was born with a significant bilateral cleft lip and palate and has firsthand experience of prolonged hospital stays at a very young age\, numerous reconstructive surgeries\, facing peers’ reaction and social acceptance challenges\, and feelings of isolation.
