FFC’s first Teen and Young Adult Forum
“I’m excited to finally be with my ‘peeps,’” said Olivia Chartand of Ludlow, Massachusetts, at FFC’s first Teen and Young Adult Forum, held at Children’s Hospital Boston. Never before had she had the opportunity to meet others like her born with cleft lip and palate.
Finally, a Law to Make You Smile
On August 6, Governor Deval Patrick signed a law mandating insurance coverage for treatment of cleft lip and/or palate for children under the age of 18. A ceremonial signing, attended by supporters, was held at the State House on October 1.

Geoffrey Martello, Medway, MA was awarded the Dr. John B. Mulliken Scholarship. He is currently enrolled at Harvard University in the pre-medicine track.

The Barbara Seltzer Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to Gracie Johnson from Marlborough, CT. Gracie will attend Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT where she will study pediatric nursing.
